Bike Update

After another round of changes, the bike is nearly ready to go (click the pics to see a larger size). New driving lights were installed (with excellent help from Dr. Jared). An aluminum dash board was fabricated and installed along with a cigarette lighter socket and a new battery. I also designed and implemented a quick release system for the Storm top box which I am looking forward to testing in the field. There are still a few more things to do before the bike is ready for the trip. There was a mysterious problem that was causing light bulbs to burn out at random. Dr. Jared helped me track the issue to a faulty voltage regulator. The new regulator just arrived in the mail and will hopefully solve the issue. After that I need install new resistors in the "cat eye" LED ring around my driving lights. The old resistors were burned out by the voltage issue. Similarly, I have a new LED taillight to replace the old one that was burned out. After that, I need to install a new air cleaner and the bike will be ready to go!
